So the winter months and the moving to the new house haven’t been kind to my Eating 8020 diet or my growing waistline. I knew it was happening yet I did nothing. I continued to have Pizza and Pasta and Chips and all sorts of crap I usually try to steer clear of. Not to mention the beer. Damn you Sam Adams! Why must all of your ales and lagers taste so good!! Some of it certainly was laziness and some of it was because it was easier to mail it in. There I said it.
Well the buck stops here. I re-watched Forks over Knives last night on Amazon Prime for a little inspiration. It worked. I came away from it saying, ” There’s no better time than right now.” That doesn’t just apply to my need to get back in shape but for everything. If you ever find yourself putting something off you know you should be doing… Don’t.
So I picked up some running sneakers and plan on starting to run/jog 2-3 times a week to start. I can’t always get into the BJJ academy to train but I can always go outside my house and jog. So that is what I am going to do. Effective immediately! Complacency is a real bitch and it hits us all from time to time and you just have to recognize it and power through and dig deep and get back on track. I had an epiphany over the last few days and I am not going to make any more excuses, I am just going to get out there and do it. After all there is no better time than right now.
